  Short while ago google had changed their ranking algorithm,   in the name of providing more relevant search results for it’s users, according to their official blog, this change impacts 11.8% organic search results, in another word, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. Google started this change almost one year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, on the other hand almost all keywords promoted by contextual links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it becomes clear that link building the old way is the thing of past, probably due to links crammed sites being downgraded by google.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, and most of them are useless, the name of link spamming sites is justified. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

Maybe a few examples will make it clear. It was quite some time ago, I started with this keyword, Yellow Round Sling, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. In the beginning, the ranking of the keyword in question rise pretty fast, finally the rank improved a lot, this was the case until google made the change. Something opposite happened to this keyword, chain pullers, we put the link in relevant context, with very few plain links, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? It all boils down to content, as long as you dole out high quality content, your rank will improve over time, since search engines are another kind of readers. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, for instance let’s examine this one, kids clothing , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of  competitive keywords. As we can see, article marketing with great content is the way to go. Now imagine you have your own blog network, something like ratchet binders, then you will have a powerful weapon in your SEO arsenal.

At the end of day all you have to do is to create attractive content, share the content with people, and put your keywords in the context you’re good to go, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. The virtues, persistence and patience, are essential for your success, you shouldn’t expect things to improve overnight, it doesn’t matter you’re doing SEO or advertising your business, now all we need to do is to share our love for creating and sharing quality content and not to worry about the search results all the time. One thing you can do for your blogs is to install twitter tools, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, link your blog to twitter, then make sure every new post will post a new tweet, it’s easy and really useful, if you don’t use this tool it’s just too bad.
